    Not sure when HK mand the change, but I my newer MR556 came with the slotted/socket head handguard screw. Not enough room to get a standard-walled sock on and I'd have to get a big, wide flat-blade screwdriver from some ones Grandfather in order to get it out. Cap head is spot on and same Manganese phosphate coating.
