HK MP5, G3, 93 Optic Mount - Micro Ultra-Low - MFI

After buying an early PTR91-GI (Connecticut PTR era) I had a problem getting my first MFI rail to mount properly. I contacted MFI, and Michael approved my return through hkparts where I had bought it. Later I discovered the flat surface along the top of my PTR's receiver is tilted which would make any high profile optic lean to one side. So I replaced the first MFI rail with this model, the Ultra Low Profile model and epoxied it to my receiver, and with a Sig Romeo5 red dot sight, co-witness is practical. It isn't 100%, because the iron sights on a G3/HK91/PTR91 rifle are not as high as an AR-15/M-16/M-4, which the optics industry uses as a standard, so my irons are low in the optic, but I have a clear front sight picture when looking through my Sig red dot. MFI is the only manufacturer who makes an Ultra Low Profile rail for the G3 type rifles, and I will say it is a brilliant product and made of quality. However, don't plan on mounting an optic with a large footprint because it likely will not fit. Do not mount a heavy optic and expect to retain Zero after extensive shooting with any .308 caliber G3 pattern rifle. This thing is great for low, light-weight optics.

Obviously my 1970s vintage HK93 predates today's omnipresent M1913 rail. This mount brought it forward 44 years in about 10 minutes, fit perfectly and is exactly the right size for a Vortex Spitfire II.

Fits perfectly but you will need to make sure your red dot clamp is not to big or you may need to buy another.

Perfect fit, and unnoticeable! I can still use both iron sights as a reference with my red dot sight, especially the front one. This is a must have!
