HKP MP5 AR Stock, Brace Adapter - QD

This adapter is great! It slides onto the receiver snugly, but not with extreme difficulty (at least with my Turkish made MP5 clone, which are produced on original H&K tooling to exact H&K specs, results may vary with other manufacturers). The pin for retaining the adapter is a bit tight at first. But after taking the adapter off an on again a few times, it gets easier. I've fitted it with a Brownells buffer extension tube, a PWS ratchet castle nut and a Magpul MOE stock (soon to be replaced with a CTR once that comes in). Compared to the factory stock, this raises the line of the stock by about 15mm. This not only makes it easier to use a red dot mounted high enough on a riser to clear the front sight ring, but also brings the line of the stock closer in line with the path of the bolt. Thus further reducing the already minimal felt recoil of the MP5 and making it just more comfortable to shoot. The irons are still useable (if you use a skeletonized riser for the red dot), but only with a very high cheek weld. For backup sights that is ok for me, but if you intent to use just the irons, this probably isn't the best option for you (unless you use a lower profile stock/brace on the tube). Build quality of the adapter also looks great. It feels solid and the surface finish is nice an even. All in all it's an awesome piece of kit and well worth the money, if you aren't an MP5 purist and mind the look of an AR buffer tube on classic MP5. But if you are looking at this product and the reviews right now, you probably don't ;)

Just unboxing this piece, you could tell it was well made, the finish is excellent, and the lines work well with my SP5. Mine was also pretty tight, but that doesn?t turn me off, I like it tight.

Fit was very tight on my PTR 9C and the retaining pin was hard to reinstall
