H&K MP5 A3 Retractable Stock Buffer

 These are common wear items and need to be replaced when they become yellow, brittle, and worn. A list of things to look for when the buffer needs to be replaced: discoloration of the buffer, the buffer becomes hard and brittle, or any tears or breakages of any part of the buffer. 

Replacement of the H buffer on your A3 stock:

• Use a set of needle nose pliers or flat head screwdriver to remove all the existing "H" buffer. In most cases, you have to remove the old buffer a piece at a time.
• Place the buffer in boiling water for several minutes or until the buffer becomes pliable.
• Press the new buffer in the opening in the back of the A3 stock until the buffer sits flush with the backplate. You may need to use a dowel to help push the buffer into place.
