RUSSIAN CIVILIAN GP-5 GAS MASK AND BAG - LIGHTWEIGHT, FULL-COVERAGE, GREY RUBBER CONSTRUCTION, SEALED EYE-PIECES, INCLUDES FILTER

New Soviet civil guard gas mask kit. Civil Guard kits are the same as Russian military GP5 gas masks but have a grey mask instead of military black. This type of gas mask was stored by the Soviets for the event of nuclear, biological or chemical attacks and were to be distributed to the population if needed. These are in new, unissued condition. Great working order with soft rubber, brand new filter and carry case. The metal buttons on the carry pouch might have some surface rust. Other than light corrosion on metal parts these are in perfect working order and remain ready to use. These were made throughout the 1970's and 80's until the end of the cold war.

Each kit includes the bag, mask and filter. Some kits include accessories or military literature. These were made over a number of years so expect slight variation in the color/design of the bags and masks.  This Russian GP-5 Gas Mask was intended for Cold War civilian use and helps to protect the face, eyes and respiratory system against chemicals and radioactive and biological warfare agents in the form of gases, vapors, aerosols and more. It has a lightweight, rubber shower cap design that gives you full face and head coverage and the dual-eye openings have sealed, protective eye lenses. The gas mask comes with an unused, screw-on Soviet 40mm canned filter cartridge and a carrying bag.
