you'll want the 9mm recoil spring too

Posted by bob on 9th May 2026

Thread protector was on really tight when I got it. I soaked it in break cleaner overnight and then it came off fine. After that, it dropped in with no problems. I kept my .40 recoil assembly installed, and it failed to eject on most of the standard pressure loads I fed it (WWB 115gr and 124gr, Federal Syntech 124gr, PPU 147gr JHP). I put some IMI 115gr JHP and Winchester black box 147gr JHP through it and it seemed okay, but those were partial boxes. However, it eats 9mm NATO and PDX1 +P (both 124gr at 1200 fps) like candy. That's fine with me because I prefer to use 9mm NATO whenever I can get it. I was going to try some Buffalo Bore 147gr +P but I didn't get around to it. If you want to shoot lighter loads, I would suggest getting the 9mm recoil assembly.
