    Great Addition….But!

Posted by Buster on 24th Jan 2025

I bought several of these to enhance my P2000SK, P2000, and USP 9. It has worked great on my P2000, and is a welcomed addition. On my P2000SK it ended up being too large for both of my holsters. Meaning, when I inserted the P2sk into the holsters the release contacted the edges of the portion of the holster that covers the back of the trigger guard and ejected the magazine every time. Rather than shop for additional holsters, I put the old magazine release back on the firearm. On my USP, it just plain did not work. It held the magazine in place just fine when the gun is not firing and was not a holster problem. However, on the first trip to the range it dropped each magazine I have while cycling after the first shot. When I got home I checked things out, and my original release has a wider lip on the portion of the release that holds the magazine in place (the P2000 & P2000SK magazines have a different design than the USP magazine, and this did not happen with them). As such, it appears that the action of the weapon cycling was enough to shake the mag loose/have it drop out of the magazine well after each shot. Beyond these compatibility issues, the product is great. The HK Parts version of this product…which is more expensive…looks like it would have alleviated the issue that I had with my USP.

Press the pin out and remove the old release and spring. Reassemble in reverse order. I found it to be a big improvement over the original magazine release.
