Description

HKP HK VP9/VP40/VP9SK Titanium Firing Pin w/ Striker - Black

Upgrade your VP series pistol with the HK Parts lightweight titanium. Reduced weight results in reduced lock time for faster shots and improved accuracy. A true drop in part made of the strongest, lightest firing pin material available. Made in the USA from solid billeted titanium weighing in at nearly half of the factory unit. Coated in a robust DLC (diamond like coating) PVD process for extra hardness and durability.

Compatible With:

  • HK VP9, VP9 Tactical, VP9L, VP9 OR
  • HK VP40, VP40 Tactical
  • HK VP9SK
  • VP9A1 K
  • VP9A1 F

Please note: Due to the inherent wear characteristics of titanium versus the hardened steel of the lower grip, the steel will eventually wear a groove in the titanium firing pin requiring replacement. This component is considered a consumable part that will need to be replaced with use.  Consumable items are not eligible for return and sold as is.

Have not noticed any wear but do notice how it shoots and the pull. The firing pin is lighter however I?m sure the weight isn?t a drastic difference between the two. However, I?m more aware of the firing and accuracy of my weapon. If I notice any changes I?ll leave a note. Vp9 w/ 500 ends monthly

I bought the titanium striker for my VP9SK to reduce the trigger pull. I saw the review/photo that complained about the striker wearing down in one spot and then not firing. I thought it might be a one-off and did not notice the disclaimer at the end of the item description that the striker would eventually wear a groove in it. Had I known would I have bought it? Not sure, I guess it depends on how many rounds I can fire before the wear becomes evident. One thing I will point out - the titanium striker is definitely lighter than the factory striker. The factory striker weighs 7.82 grams and the titanium one weighs 4.36 grams, a full 44.2% less. Now I hope I get my money's worth out of it. I will also point out that I have a titanium strikers in one of my Glock?s and have never encountered this "wear" issue.

I waited MONTHS for this to come back in stock and it was worth the wait. The stock striker had rough manufacturing on the surface where it meets the seer. Tried HK customer service and they wanted me to send in the gun. Got this and it 100% fixed the problem as well as lightening up the trigger pull. I also have the LW trigger and this combo is awesome. Highly recommended.

Have 3 of these. One each for a VP9 and VP40, and another for a VP9sk (different part #). I shoot the V9 and VP40 ~200 rnds each on a weekly basis. A few weeks ago I started getting dead trigger on both. Bump and rack sometimes fixed, but not always. Noticed the firing pin wasnt back when the trigger was dead, and if I did a press check the firing pin would reset and trigger worked. Deep clean of both didnt make a difference, but then I noticed the severe wear on the firing pin where the catch engages (see photo. titanium pin on left, stock steel pin on right). Both titanium pins in the VP9 and VP40 had the same wear. Replaced both with the original stock firing pins, and both work fine now, no dead trigger. I'll still reorder and use this titanium firing pin in my competition vp9 and training vp40 because I like the feel of it, and I'll concede that I'll need to have replacements on hand when (not if) they wear out. BUT, I am swapping back to the stock firing pin on my 'work' VP9sk because I would want the trigger to work all the time and every time on that one. If you have this titanium firing pin, check it. If it's starting to look anything like the left pin in the photo, replace it before you get an underwear staining dead trigger experience.
