It is recommended by the manufacturer to use 124+ Grain Ammunition for 9mm and 180+ Grain Ammunition for .40 S&W when firing these compensators for optimal performance.

This item works as advertised with everything from standard pressure 115 gr ammo to + P + to major. The great thing about this comp is that you don?t have to fool around with recoil spring rates. 15# recoil & stock striker springs work quite well. The comp works against the frame, not the slide/barrel assembly, so there?re no real problems with usable ammunition like you?ll encounter with frame or slide mounted comps. The hotter the ammo, the flatter it shoots (in re muzzle rise), but the milder stuff (practice ammo) will still function reliably. I?ve got another for threaded barrels & that actually works very well ? if not better ? for an unthreaded barrel. The unfilled space acts as a very effective chamber and vent.
