HKP Paddle Style Extended Mag Release - EMR

Awesome addition to my pistol!

Product works great, makes getting in the mag drop much easier, it will work for a gsg 16, just need to do some sanding on original to make fit with this.

It has a simple set screw to hold it in place and it's difficult to place on mag release. Had to place it in several different positions until it fit right. Once you get it attached it works.

It?s a great tactical upgrade. Must be easier for MP5 because it wouldn?t work at first with my PTR91 because the mag got in the way and prevented it from working. I needed to file it down to work for the ptr-91. I am still giving it 4 stars because it?s a cool product.

PTR9 easy install. You need to grip the mag on a specific spot in order to catch the release with your thumb. Just European it, use your strong hand index finger to drop the Mag. that simple. Ambidextrous

This little gadget works! So much more ergonomic. Trigger finger release and off hand mag up, regardless if left or right handed.

Overall, this item is excellent. It is however a tad peculiar. As Americans, we are all generally more familiar with the reloading procedure on Armalite style rifles such as the AR-15, and the result is the MP-5's lack of these features takes us as very odd. This attempt to in part remedy the MP-5's shortcomings is very good. That said, I worry it might become a crutch and if given another MP-5 I wouldn't be as skilled at reloading it as I would be the one I had customized. That is the risk of any improvement though, and this IS an improvement. The install is via a plug screw that clamps down, and some careful adjustment is required. I had to remove it and replace it several times, putting the trigger housing on and off the weapon each time as the screw cannot be reached with the trigger housing installed. If placed too high, the paddle holds the mag release lever in the open position, if too low it slips off. As such, take your time in the installation and get it just right. Once you do, the MP-5's screwy reloading procedure is significantly improved. I only wish it had a bolt hold open.

Great product very nicely made, unfortunately it doesn't work with the Magpul trigger housing that I really like, not sure if I'll change back to the PTR housing

You have it perfect or the top sits to far up and the magazine won?t stay in, but when you get it in place it?s perfect.
